Gabriel Nicholas Farkash (Nick)
Prior to graduating from Cathedral Latin, I worked part time and then full time for a small manufacturing company to help support my mom and myself (father died in 1950). In June of 1963, I was hired by the Euclid Division of General Motors (eventually becaming Terex) which manufactured earth moving equipment. I worked in the manufacturing area as a machine operator until 1974. I was then given the opportunity to become a Process Engineer while attending night school at the University of Akron.
I later worked for Goodyear Aerospace as a Manufacturing Engineer (eventually purchased by Loral and then Lockheed Martin). There, I earned the title of Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
For my Family life, I’ve been married to my wife Gloria since February 1965. We have three children: two sons, Nicholas and William and a daughter Angela.
I retired in 2006 from General Motors, Goodyear and Lockheed Martin. I Joined with other retiree groups and bowl during the winter and play golf in the summer for friendship, exercise and competitive entertainment.
I consider myself blessed to have worked for and retired from three of the largest companies in their field of business.
I attribute much of my blessings to the grooming that began at Cathedral Latin High School. As we all know, we need a strong foundation when we begin our walk through life. The values, virtues and principles instilled at Latin have helped me in the past and, with God’s help, will continue to help me in the future.
The Farkash Family
Son Bill, Daughter Angela, Wife Gloria, Nick, Son Nicholas, his wife Stephanie. Grandsons Justin and Michael. I asked Nick to update his BioPage. Sadly, this is the update he sent. - Jim McM The only thing that has happened is I lost my oldest son Nicholas on February 5, 2017 and my wife Gloria the following year. She died on February 28, 2018 a day after we celebrated our 53 years of marriage. It wasn’t much of a celebration because she was very sick. Not a day goes by without good memories. Enjoy your family and don’t hesitate to tell them you love them. It’s just so hard to believe. I definitely plan to be at one of the reunions. Gabe (Nick) (4/4/2018) |
