Pete French
Beloved husband of 46 years to Janice 'Jan' (nee Szalkowski). Dear father to Jennifer Campbell (Jon) and Justin French (Amy). Loving grandfather to Charlotte and Carter Campbell. Brother to Barbara Nocella (Charlie), James French (Connie, deceased), Richard French (Joan) and Rosemary Kapp (Chuck). Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and a friend to many. Peter passed away peacefully after a long illness on September 14, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lillian French. Peter is a veteran, having served in the US Army as a military policeman in Korea. He was a proud and active alumni of Cathedral Latin and John Carroll University. His long career spanned from Juvenile Court Probation Officer, US Deputy Chief Probation Officer, Weed & Seed Coordinator for the US Department of Justice and Director of Oriana Halfway House.

Pete attended Cathedral Latin from St. Gregory the Great. He was a homeroom officer during his junior year. He was active in intramurals for all four years and served on the dance committee as a Senior. Pete was very popular with his fellow classmates.
During his retirement years he found a new passion in teaching Criminal Justice at Remington College. Peter was one of a kind... always with a smile, optimistic and a positive presence. He was an avid reader, a movie buff, a tennis enthusiast and happiest when outside in the sunshine. He loved all things Cleveland, especially the Indians, of whom he was a lifelong fan. We celebrate his life with a Funeral Mass 10 AM Thursday, September 19 at The Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road, North Olmsted. Please meet at church. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School or John Carroll University.
