Bill Kilinskas
In 1979, I transferred to the Tonawanda, NY R&D department, where I spent the next 24 years, working up to the highest technical level, Senior Development Associate. I worked there in logistics for 10 years, optimizing plant production and vehicle routing of product to customers. The next 14 years I worked designing and programming gas analyzers and gas analyses systems to measure trace impurities in semiconductor gases. I have coauthored three patents in processing stainless steel materials to high strength and have many gas analyzers and gas analyses systems running all over the world. I “retired” in 2003, but I could not take it. In 2005, I took on another job as a Software Engineer at the Republic Steel bar mill in Lackawanna, NY. I have been there since. I am responsible there for the tracking of steel bar as it is being produced and optimizing the yield by maintaining and enhancing sophisticated software.
I lost Jill to cancer in October of 2013. We were both Trekkies, attending many conventions over the years, and loved to spend time in Florida and Arizona. In Florida, we loved the Disney parks, Universal Studio, and the NASA Space Center, especially viewing shuttle launches. We loved musical theater and just plain old dining and dancing. We have two grandchildren. I am at [email protected]. The picture above is of Jill and me at dinner in June, 2013.

Bill sent us this Bio update on 1/23/2018:
I finally retired from Republic Steel on March 16, 2016. This time is for good. I spend as much time as I can in Orlando, Florida, and I make a yearly one week stay in Phoenix, Arizona using my timeshares. Otherwise, I am a season ticket holder for the Buffalo Bisons baseball team, the AAA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and a season subscriber to our local Broadway theater. I spend time at home cataloging old pictures and home movies by digitizing them. I had a slight setback last year. I needed left hip replacement surgery which I had done in February, 2017. Fortunately, I was pretty much back to normal walking without help (no walker or cane) by May and I resumed my travels. All these activities are what Jill and I did. These help me cope with the loss. Of course, I am a Disney fanatic. Here is a picture of me at Epcot on a visit in December, 2017

Bill Kilinskas's Classic 1964 Corvair Monza
What a Beauty!!
Jim
Attached is a picture of the 1964 Corvair Monza that I displayed at a car show at my local parish back in September, 2016. It was my wife Jill's car from high school back in 1966 to 1969. I had taken care of it from 1980 when I drove it here to Buffalo from Jill's parents' house in Lakewood, Ohio. I had to sell it last December, unable to drive or take care of it anymore.
