Ron Lessner
(his Bio)
Unsure of what I wanted to do in life, I entered the U.S. Air Force in 1963 as a medic and served at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi, where I met my wife, and subsequently was stationed at Wheelus AFB in Tripoli, Libya.
Upon completion of military service, I attended Jefferson Davis Junior College and subsequently received a BSBA from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1970.
Immediately after graduation, I was employed by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service in a variety of positions until my retirement in late 1993. It was an absolute pleasure serving our Armed Forces and their families in Belgium, The Netherlands and Republic of South Korea. These assignments enabled me to tour much of Western Europe and parts of Asia. My family certainly experienced and enjoyed a variety of cultures. Stateside assignments included the U.S. Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs), Ft Sam Houston (San Antonio), Edgewood Arsenal (Maryland) to name a few.
After almost 40 years of marriage, I lost my wife Gloria to cancer. I have one son, a police lieutenant in Biloxi, and a daughter, who holds an MBA, working in contract management at Keesler AFB. I now enjoy four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Yes, I did survive Hurricanes Camille and Katrina! You can reach me at [email protected]
