Raymond S. Malik
Raymond S. Malik, 79, of Elyria, died Monday, August 3, 2015, at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born November 27, 1935, in Cleveland.
He was a graduate of Benedictine High School. Ray received his Bachelor Degree in education in 1957 from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana and continued his graduate studies at John Carroll University. For 16 years, he taught English and was Dean of Academics at Cathedral Latin School and for several years, taught at Fairview High School. In 1980, Ray continued his career as a corrections officer at the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2000. He was a loving Christian husband, father and grandfather.
Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan N.; children, Linda Marie Malik Schaffer, Raymond J. Malik, retired U.S. Air Force and Daniel Steven Malik, Sergeant First Class U.S. Army; grandchildren, Andrew, Amber, Nick, Charlie, Logan, Ben, Zachary, Jordan, Erik, Beatrice and Terrence and great-grandchildren, Grace, Corbin, Harper and Oliver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mary Malik and a brother, Stanley.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 4 P.M., at the family home.
