Joe Miklich
Sadly, Joe passed away over Christmas. He's been slowly declining in health over the past few months and not getting out as much as he was. He had cancer and it was getting worse. He wouldn't move up to Cleveland which we wanted him to do. So he was alone down in Columbus. We had to have the police do a wellness check for him and they found him. He must have fallen in the shower and made it to the bed and didn't call EMS. We haven't made any arrangements yet and don't know if there will be a service or not, he wanted to be cremated so I imagine it will be in the paper soon. His brother Tom is handling everything for the family. We will miss him very much. He always had funny stories from the old days to tell.

Remembrances of Joe
I remember Joe well. Quiet and steady. A true friend. Rest In Peace, Joe. - Myron Achbach
I'm truly saddened by Joe's death. A long time friend at St. Philomena's and Latin, Joe and his family, knowing I had loss my father, often invited me to their outings at Round-up Lake and Munroe Falls and dinner at their home. Joe, like his dad, was a caring and sharing wonderful human. RIP Joe! - Danny Borovac
My condolences and prayers go out to the Miklich family, Joe was a great teammate and friend, he was one tough nut, I'm sure he and Steve are renewing and old friendship and talking about football right now - Ray Paglio
My sympathy to the Miklich Family....I too remember Joe very well. His Uncle was a Marianist--Brother Raymond Miklich--and he died this past May 9th in Dayton. He was 88. Happy New Year to all. - Father Pat Tonry
Condolences to the Miklich family. Joe was a classic. -John Forhan
Sorry to hear about Joe Miklich.. he was a great team mate that was quiet, non boastful but
did his job to make Team Latin the best we could be..May Joe RIP IN GOD’s HANDS.. - Larry Kaminski
To the Lions of CLS: My brothers and I wish to say to Joe's family that heaven will welcome this man whose size, capability to love and spirit of independence. I could tell some stories of the times we shared and the laughs we enjoyed together. In 1961, in the huddle in the last 2 minutes of the Ignatius game he said to Ray and I, "Now I know what you guys have been talking about all these years". He felt the joy of hard work that brings success! I met Joe for breakfast in Columbus 4 years ago and it was a good time for us. I thought we would have more time together and I should have insisted that we meet more often. I love you, Joe! Pray for all of us. - Dan McGrath
Wow! I also have very fond memories of Joe in homeroom. Fond Memories - Tom Maracz
It was sad to see the passing of Joe. I hadn't seen him since the 60s, but I remember him as quiet and thoughtful, yet as tough as they come. May God bless Joe and condolences to his family. - Bob DeSapri
