Sam Colacarro
I went to John Carroll University and graduated in 1967. I majored in French and Spanish and minored in Education. I taught for four years at Cathedral Latin and was Athletic Director for the last three years that I was there. I moved on to Lake Catholic High School in Mentor and have been there for 44 years. I taught Spanish and French until 2003 as well as serving as Athletic Director. I am still in that position and presently head a program of 25 sports for boys and girls.
Our school has won 5 state championships; 3 in football, 1 in wrestling, and 1 in volleyball while I have been here.
I was married in 1982 and have two grown children, a daughter who is 27 and a son who is 25. My wife passed away from cancer in 2004 and I remarried in 2007 and have a step son who is 23. My main interest is playing golf and spending time with my grandson. I do not have any plans yet to retire and hope to continue as long as I am able. I have spent 48 years in education and wouldn't trade it for anything. I enjoy being with the youth that I have encountered and watching them grow into young adults.
I can be reached at school, 440-578-1020 ext. 227 or by email at [email protected]
